An air purifier donated to the MCS Reference Center in Ancona: a project made possible by the 5x1000
We publish the press release of the Associazione Nazionale per il Riconoscimento della MCS e delle altre Patologie Ambientali ODV-ETS (National Association for the Recognition of MCS and Other Environmental Illnesses) on the donation of the air purifier to the MCS Reference Center in Ancona.
On Friday, 23 October 2026, the top-of-the-range Austin Air Immunity Machine® air purifier, with eight filtration stages to reduce fine particulate matter, allergens, viruses and bacteria, odors, VOCs and gases, was delivered to the Reference Center for Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS) of the Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria delle Marche, in Ancona.
This is a significant milestone for our Associazione Nazionale per il Riconoscimento della MCS e delle altre Patologie Ambientali ODV-ETS (National Association for the Recognition of MCS and Other Environmental Illnesses), which made the donation of the device possible thanks to the funds raised through the 5x1000.
This result is a concrete example of how the solidarity and support of citizens can translate into tangible action for people affected by Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, a condition that can cause serious difficulties in daily life and in accessing healthcare facilities, especially in the presence of fragranced products and environmental chemical agents.
Having an air purifier at the MCS Reference Center is an important step towards the Center becoming operational and towards greater attention to the quality of the healthcare environment and to the needs of people who are sensitive to chemical agents. The initiative is part of the Association's commitment to promoting fragrance-free care settings that are more inclusive and respectful of the needs of patients with MCS and other environmental illnesses.
The delivery of the air purifier is not only the completion of a project, but also a sign of attention and sensitivity towards a community of patients asking to be heard and recognized, and for environmental conditions suitable for accessing care.
We will keep working so that the right to health and to accessible healthcare that respects the needs of people with MCS increasingly becomes a reality.
Special thanks to everyone who chose to allocate their 5x1000 to our Association and who, together with us, are helping to build a future more attentive to environmental illnesses.
Every contribution matters and can become concrete help in improving the welcome, protection and quality of life of people living with these conditions.
Thanks also go to High-Tech Market, authorized importer of Austin Air Systems (USA) for Italy, a point of reference for many patients, which personally handled the delivery to the Center.
